We are a team of engineers and programmers with longtime experience in creating innovative solutions for the automotive and aircraft industry. We are located in the USA, Germany and Switzerland. Development of the Sunclipies started in 2006, when several friends and collegues complained they did not find any nice Sun Clip-Ons for their eyeglasses. No one wanted to use the traditional clumsy, heavy, grandpa-style flip-ups like shown in this picture:  Almost all models have ugly bridge-parts in the middle, destroying the original look and design of the eyeglasses, whether they are flip-ups or not. And they did not want to spend money for a second pair of eyeglasses with dark lenses either (because its expensive and difficult to carry around). After a long development time the solution turned out to be this: very lightweight and elegant Sunclipies which are clipped in behind the eyeglasses:  They are manufactured using rapid-manufacturing and mass-customization technology and thus are available in multiple colors at low cost and in short time. We are manufacturing and selling them since May 2008. We are sending them worldwide.  Part of the money we earn we donate to organisations that help people in need.
